default
Posted on Wed, 18 Feb 2015
Question: hi,
i have been getting recurring lumps both under my arms and on the outside of the vagina, they are filled with pus and a lot of blood and can be very painful. sometimes they go away on their own or after popping, sometimes after a course of antibiotics, once i have had one lanced and packed at the hospital. doctors haven't been able to tell me how to prevent them or agree about what they are. The doctors have called them many things, abscesses, staff, folliculitus.

Brief Answer:
these are felicitous lesions..explained.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for contacting healthcare magic.
If the lumps or papillose which you are experiencing are filled with pus when you pop them out and also see blood extruding out and can be painful, then it classically indicates folliculitis which can especially happen in areas which are hair prone like armpits, groin, even behind neck. They occur due to infection of the follicle possibly due to breakage of hair follicle which then tends to get infected .
The best way to avoid them is to keep the local area well shaved and hygienic to avoid recurrence. Once develop they can be treated with antibiotics and local antiseptics.
