Brief Answer:
Suspecting folliculitis from the images and location

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query and the attached images, thanks for that as they really help. From the given description, the attached images, and the location I strongly suspect folliculitis, which is the inflammation and at times even infection of a hair follicle.

Popping it was not wise, but not much harm done at this point in time. The usual approaches to treating folliculitis are in the following ways:

+Heat application to the region
+Take sitz baths with epsom salt
+Avoid irritation the region by wearing tight clothes (Especially not jeans as you seem to be wearing in the attached images). any further irritation will lead it to progression, and as you already know by now, please avoid touching it with your hand as well
+As your wife popped it, I would also recommend the application of a topical antibiotic which should be available over-the-counter (e.g. neomycin, bactricin, etc.)
+Wear loose comfortable clothing
+Also please do not shave or remove hair from the region is this will aggravate the condition, and is also one of the causes for the onset of folliculitis (at least not for a while)
+You may use an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication) like ibuprofen or tylenol for the pain and swelling, nothing too strong

I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

All that was last week , just yesterday I had her try to pop it but nothing came out so my follow up question is that it obviously hurt a little but nothing out of this world , due to her trying to pop it, aside from what u told me to do what else should I do because it feels like a little bump there and how long does it take to go away. Sorry for what it seems like an obvious question or follow up , only that I ve been going through some anxiety and anything that appears or shows up even if I am feeling good and healthy scares me .

Brief Answer:
Do not worry sir, folliculitis is perfectly simple and harmless

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

Of course sir, I completely understand, don't worry.

With folliculitis, in majority of cases it is a self-resolving condition. This means, we should just let it be, do not irritate it or aggravate it and it is resolves itself.

Only in cases wherein the folliculitis has resulted in an infection, do we opt to use antibiotics as well to treat the infection.

Do not worry sir, the best thing for your right now would be primarily to avoid further irritation to the region and second to apply warm application to the region several times a day to promote healing.

Please do not worry, this is one of the most common and non-complicated conditions ever listed in medicine, you have nothing to worry about and should be fine in no time. Please do not hesitate to keep in touch or write to me if there is anything troubling you, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
