Question: I know someone who had a concussion and has been experiencing headaches, eye pressure and spots, and tongue numbness? Is this common? What can be done to treat this other than rest, liquids and a good diet?

Brief answer....explained below and better to get an MRI brain done
Detailed answer....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
These are the usual concussion symptoms which your friend is facing but sometimes symptoms of serious brain injury may take several hours or days to appear.
Consult the doctor or ER immediately if any of following occur...
If mental confusion or drowsiness persists for more than couple of hours
If there is problem in balance while walking or speaking
If any Problem in eyesight
If vomiting is persistent
If there is discharge of blood or clear fluid from ear or nose
If there is any persistent headache

In case you don't suffer from above symptoms, then you can do following...
Take adequate rest
Take paracetamol for headache ( don't use ibuprofen or aspirin as it can cause internal bleeding
Apply cold compress locally
Avoid alcohol
Avoid driving or any sport
Attend your office or any work only when you recover completely.

Concussion symptoms may take few days to few weeks to recover but make sure to consult your doctor and may even get a MRI done to rule out any brain injury.
A clear and normal MRI brain would give you lot of peace and clear direction for further management.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks

This happened 3 weeks ago and she is going to work in obvious discomfort. She's some OK days and some not so good days. Her eyesight is blurry in the morning but clears up in about hour. Her headaches are in the back of her head and pressure on the eyes. They have been constant. Loud noises and elevators are discomforting to her. She does not have insurance. Is there any way to see a Doctor without it? What else can I do for her?

Hello,
Since it is already 3 weeks after the injury, chances of internal brain injury look quite less but it would be still better to get an MRI brain done for satisfaction and peace. Since she is still getting Headache and blurring of vision,MRI brain would be an ideal thing.
Thanks

How long should she wait if the headaches and eye spots don't go away? What else can she do for herself to treat this? Are homeopathic remedies that will help these symptoms? Finally is there a possibility that some damage to her eye is causing these headaches?

Hello,
The concussion symptoms may linger on for couple of months also but the main thing is to rule out any internal brain injury and this can be one by only MRI brain.
Headache is not due to any damage to eyes.
As far as homeopathic medicines are concerned, there is no harm in it but first of all rule out any internal brain injury.
Thanks
