Question: Hello. I have excessive coughing and sometimes the phlegm blocks my airways passages. I mean can breath it just makes it a little more difficult to breath. It sounds like I'm wheezing. I went to my doctor but she didn't find anything wrong. My lungs were clean. No congestion. So where is the phlegm coming from and what will be causing my cough? And how do I get better?

The chronic cough with excessive mucus production can be due to post nasal drip caused by nasal pathology.
Please tell me do you have any history of frequent nasal or throat infection?
Any Investigations done like a chest xray?
What medicine have you been taking so far?

No history of frequent throat or nasal infection. No investigation through a chest xray. I have been taking cough medicine and allergy medicine as prescribed by my doctor. She also prescribed an inhaler but I couldn't afford. I'm am is in the process of getting it.

Chronic cough

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the information.
You should get the inhaler.
Along with the medicines take steam inhalation.
Use xylometazoline nasal drops three times a day.
If the cough still persists, itmust be investigated.
A xray chest and sputum examination should be done.
All the medicine prescribed by me will be available only on prescription.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks and regards
