What Causes Painful Urination With Burning Sensation, Frequent Urination And Groin Pain?

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Nov 2015
Question: I think I have a bladder infection. Stinging upon urination and pain in the pubic area by the bladder. I have several gastrointestinal issues also. I have IBS, esophageal spasms, hiatal hernia, my pancreas does not produce the enzymes and acids for digestion, I have some diverticulosis, a redundant colon, gastritis, and earlier this year I had a duodenal ulcer. I'm not sure if the possible bladder infection and IBS are two separate issues or reacting with pain in the same area. I have taken one dosage of Lactose with some relief of the IBS. I have been under a doctor's care for about 15 years with some of the GI issues. I've even gone to XXXXXXX and White in Temple, TX for diagnostics with no answers. The esophageal spasms have been occurring for 15 years and the source can't be found. I have had GI issues since birth. I have been in the medical field and have some knowledge of health issues including my own.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Painful urination with a burning or stinging sensation, frequent urination and a dull pain in pubic area (bladder area) are symptoms of cystitis (urinary tract infection).
IBS and the your other gastrointestinal problems don't cause such symptoms.IBS can cause abdominal cramps .Dull pain in suprapubic area is not typical for IBS.

An urinalysis is necessary to confirm the urinary tract infection. In this case a course of antibiotics would be necessary to treat the infection.Continue to drink plenty of water but if the symptoms persist ,consult a physician and get an urinalysis done.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any question.I would be happy to answer.
