Brief Answer: TREATMENT DESCRIBED BELOW Detailed Answer: Hello XXXXXXX Congratulations !! Hope you and the baby are doing fine. Well, what you are facing is quite common. Are you breastfeeding your baby ? Sometimes, if you are breastfeeding, the breast tissue undergoes enlargement. Small portions of the normal breast tissue are often buried inside the armpits, they extend till there, but are normally not visible, however when they enlarge during lactation, they become visible and at times, painful. This is known as the ' axillary tail ' of the breast ( axilla is the scientific term for the armpits ). What you should do is continue to feed your baby. Make sure that both the breasts are emptied during breastfeeding ( latch your child to both breasts alternately ). Wear tight breast support bra. If the lumps are painful, they might indicate an infection. You would need a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatories. Since you are breastfeeding, first try taking Combiflam twice a day for 5 days. ALong with that, use hot water pressure ( with a bottle or bag ) locally. Since it is summer, wear loose sleeveless cotton garments, and keep the area free to hair and sweat ( if not already shaved, avoid shaving now, it might precipitate infection ). Use local cream like Mupirocin on the lumps. Can you upload a picture ? If they do not resolve within 3 - 4 days after taking the medications, please consider antibiotics, before taking them, you should see your gynecologist. Certain antibiotics only can be taken during lactation. All the best Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Take care.
