default
Posted on Tue, 6 Dec 2016
Question: I have been dealing with weird feelings like cramps pain feels like a pressure cup is around my arms I barely scratch and my skin turns red and flares up and get little bumps and then goes away. I had a panic attack or anxiety attack the other day something in my throat started beating really fast and the weird feeling and pain I have in my legs and stuff went away?

and I have been getting about 10 warts on only one hand one big and the rest pretty small. what I wrote could that be anxiety or maybe thyroid problems cause I get a numbing sensation in mylegs as well

at first there were no leg symptoms I went to the er cause it seemed like I was loosing grip inmy arms that went away and these other weird symptoms started something in throat beat really fast and pain and weird feeling went away and then came back. sometimes when I get my neck and thighs and hamstring rubbed it feels good at times

when I squeeze my legs tense them up like I'm flexing I get that cramp XXXXXXX horse feeling in my legs

seems like I'm more humgry gaining wait brittle nails fatigue itchy skin

my skin gets red real easy when it itches and I scratch it feels hot and like flare up hot pain inside

I should say pain is nokt so bad one day and not very good on other days. the weird feeling I feel I feel it in my face its like crawling. I get spasms and twitches throughout different parts of the body

if pain goes away when whatever was beating in my throat that day my guess is thyroid.and then comes back when the beating subsides that's the biggest thing I'm confused on. please help thanks

Hello, and thanks for your question.

Everything you are describing are ALL somatic symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety manifests as various aches, pains, and focusing on small discomforts in the body. The biggest thing you can do to address these various problems is to get adequate treatment for anxiety. This would include a combination of treatment with an SSRI antidepressant such as escitalopram, combined with cognitive behavioral psychotherapy with a therapist. These two things will help your anxiety significantly.

thank you very much. so what would be beating fast inmy throat to take away my pain for it only to return again once it stopped. I thought the thyroid was there. most of the weird feelings slash hot feeling skin turning red when I scratch feels like a constant cramp or something pulling. feels like numb sometimes then inflammation feeling when I scratch or touch firm will turn red and get little bumps. thank you very much for all the feedback dr. sheppe,

Detailed Answer:
The sensations you are feeling are not indicative of any particular organ or problem -- rather, the anxiety center in your brain is interpreting normal sensations as dangerous, causing anxiety and stress. I would not worry about any bodily problem. Instead, seek out treatment for anxiety as I suggested above.
