Brief Answer:
Need urgent evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to HCM forum.

This can be either a lymphadenitis caused by infection in the drainage area, infection/inflammation of the salivary glands(parotid/submandibular), or soft tissue infection of the neck spaces.

Since she is not having other features suggestive of(toothache/gingivitis/throat pain/earache etc), lymphadenitis is less likely.
So kindly see your doctor without delay for a detailed local examination so that we can have the correct diagnosis and treat accordingly.

Meanwhile, you can continue analgesics. If she is not allergic, NSAIDs like advil(ibuprofen) 400 mg thrice daily will give better pain relief than mersyndol in this situation. Also, drink plenty of fluids and keep good oral hygiene.
Kindly avoid further delay in seeing your doctor, as this can cause progression of the infection.

Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing for a faster cure.
Thank you.
