Brief Answer:
right leg pain when lying on right hip

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
You may have some arthritis in your hips. If that is the case then taking 1500 mg of glucosamine daily may be able to help. If the pain is not in the hip but just in the leg when lying on that side then there are some other things you could try.
It maybe possible for you to put a pillow between your legs when you sleep and this could take some of the pressure off your right leg when you are sleeping on that side.
A physical therapist may be able to help you learn some exercises to strengthen your legs and prevent the pain that is occurring when sleeping on your right side.
Some people find that taking a tylenol at bedtime can help relieve the of this type of pain and that is safe as long as you do not have any liver disease.
Please let me know if you have further questions.

I have high blood pressure and taking meds for this and it under control.. could this have anything to do with this.. I don't know if you got that I had fell through bleachers when I was 10 and my back hurt then. have had few issues with my back since then that left me unable to move for a about a week when it flares up.
could this be part of that too

Brief Answer:
doubt the high blood pressure is part of it

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for the follow up.
I doubt that the high blood pressure or medications for it have anything to do with this problem.
The fall through the bleachers could have set up some arthritis that flares up occasionally and that could definitely be a part of it.
If there is some disc disease in the back then lying on one side could cause some pressure on the nerves and this could be a cause of your leg pain when lying on your side.
If you are willing a good physical therapist may be able to help you both with the leg and back pain.
Especially after an old trauma, sometimes we build up scar tissue that can cause pain and suffering later in life. The physical therapists often have treatments that can break up that tissue and give you some relief.
