Question: About 6 months ago I started having pain in my right arm. ( Between elbow and shoulder). I am a 52 year old female. It was sharp it, about 3 times a day. Now it is much more often keeps me awake limited movement, very weak. Also I take a lose dose antibiotic for acne every day. Anyway my face was really bad so I took extra pills for about 5 days. Really seemed to help my arm, for a few days. Any ideas? Thank you XXXX

Brief Answer:
Could be Adhesive capsulitis(Frozen shoulder) or Calcific tendonitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.

Although it isn't possible to diagnose your condition without an examination and a few tests, your history is suggestive of Adhesive capsulitis(Frozen shoulder) or Calcific tendonitis.

These conditions are easily managed by regular physiotherapy ( Range of motion exercices, stretching and strengthening exercises). Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as aspirin and ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), can help reduce pain and inflammation associated with this condition.

I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician nearby for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Your doctor after diagnosing the condition might refer to you a physical therapist.A physical therapist can teach you stretching exercises to help maintain as much mobility in your shoulder as possible

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.

Take care

Hi,

It could be tendonitis of arm. Give rest to the arm. Avoid any activity that aggravate the pain. Taking anti inflammatory drug will be helpful.
