What Causes Pain In Mid Lower Right Back While Standing?

default
Posted on Thu, 4 Jun 2015
Question: My right mid to lower back is hurting and i'm starting to double over when trying to stand. I was treated last January for kidney infection (although results indicated no actual infection - maybe too soon to have accurate results). I had just been in Cancun and drank too much alcohol and not enough water. Antibiotics did help pretty quickly. I typically don't drink enough water and do drink coffee and alcohol. So I suspect something going on with my right side kidney this time. What do yo think?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.

Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

Your history, your life style and description of your symptoms tell me that you are having renal pains.

This can be due to UTI or they may be just simple renal colic due to lack of water intake.

I would suggest you few things which will help you.

1) Drink loads of water.

2) Drink loads of Cranberry juice.

3) Get citrosoda sachets from market and drink 1 XXXXXXX thruce a day.

4) Tablet diclofenac Sodium.100mg SR great help reducing the pain.

5) I would also suggest similar patient in my clinic to start orat cipro 500mg twice a day... specially when there is a history if UTI which was helped by antibiotics.

6) Spasmolytics like Drotaverine help too.

7) If despite all these measure pain doesnt settle in a couple of days or keep getting worse, see a doctor.

The doctor might want to give you injectable antibiotic or pain killer and run some tests on you like

Ultrasound KUB, Urine R/E and blood CP

Just take care and things will be alright soon.
