What Causes Pain In Left Side Of The Waist Under The Armpit?
Question: My 13 1/2 year old son is complaining of a pain on his left side like above the waist under the armpit. He felt it tonight when laying down and also said it hurts when he breathes. He doesn't remember hurting this area so now he is worried and he is making me nervous worrying too. Could it be like a cancer or something? He has not lost weight, no fevers, no fatigue, and still,has an appetite.

Yeah I wasn't concerned with lung cancer, as the pain is down one side, I was more worried like a bone, colon, liver, spleen type cancer. I know it's not common in boys his age but when he worries he makes me worry. Would other symptoms show up if it was cancer?
