What Causes Pain In Chest, Arm And Jaw With Abnormal ECG?

default
Posted on Mon, 16 Jun 2014
Question: On Friday night I was admitted to hospital with chest pain arm pain and jaw pain and had an abnormal ecg but my bloods were fine they said my arteries might not be getting enough oxygen then they discharged me after referring me to a cardiologist

What I'm frightened about is the abnormal ecg. Could I have a heart attack because of that? Why else would I be getting central chest pain/tightness and jaw and arm pain?

I know I didn't have a heart attack then but could I be leading up to one? With the abnormal ecg and the dr saying he thinks my arteries aren't getting enough oxygen?

Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that since your blood tests are normal and ECG had some abnormality there is a possibility that you could be having Angina . Your further testing like coronary angiography , 2D ECHO and repeat ECG needs to be done to reach to any conclusion . Without all these it will be difficult to comment on your situation .

You need to see a cardiologist for the same .

Take care.

Dear Madam,

There is a possibility that you may be having sinus tachycardia or may be some other arrythmias as in many arrythmias the heart rate is increased .But since you say that your ECHO is normal there is a possibilty that most probably you are having sinus tachycardia.
