Question: I HAVE DEVELOPED GOUT SEVERAL DAYS AGO 5 DAYS TO BE EXACT. I WENT TO MY DR. TODAY 1/17/17. HE PRESCRIBED 20MG.PREDNISONE. TO ME TOTHE SAME DAY AND I IMMEDIATELY STARTED TO TAKE THE MEDS AS DIRECTED. HOW SOON WILL MY LARGE TTOE AND FOOT CEASE THE SWELLING AND BECOME PAIN FREE?

It depends on the amount of Uric acid in your blood and joints. You need to get your joint aspirated and treated for Uric advice crystals and also get a blood Uric acid level.

If Uric acid level is high, you need to be in medication to reduce it. Avoid meat and their gravies, fish, alcohol, smoking, avocado. Drink 3 litres of water daily.

The medication given to you is only to reduce the pain and inflammation.
