What Causes Pain And Discomfort In The Abdomen?

default
Posted on Wed, 17 May 2017
Question: for the past 5 days I have felt a slight pain and discomfort on the left bottom side of my stomach. what could this be? I read about hernias but I can't feel any type of lump or bulge. could it just be a strain or something else? I do have some sort of health anxiety so I've been thinking about it for awhile. could this be a factor also? thanks for the response in advance.

Brief Answer:
Ultra sound abdomen should be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.

Part of your bowel, your spleen, the end part of the pancreas, part of the stomach, the left part of your liver, the left side of your kidneys, a portion of your ureter, the left adrenal gland, part of your left lung, the lower portion of your left ribs, the aorta, many muscles and skin are all located in this upper upper part of hypochondrium.Inflammationof any one of them can be a possible cause of pain.
Easiest way out is to get an ultrasound abdomen done.
If ultrasonogram is normal then it is just sprain of abdominal muscle.
Would initially suggest you to go for ultrasound abdomen.

Wish you fast recovery.
Regards.
