Brief Answer:
Trauma may cause fracture, herniated disc disease.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Spine trauma may cause itself herniated disc disease, vertebral body fracture that may compress nerve(s).

In your case seems to be involved the L4 nerve root.

It is necessary for imaging of your lumbo-sacral spine (X-rays, MRI) in order to confirm the diagnosis.

It is also necessary to rest for some days and to use NSAIDs drugs(Paracetamol), in order to improve.

Please discuss with your spine Specialist about these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
