What Causes Nausea After Eating Food?

default
Posted on Mon, 4 May 2015
Question: What can cause feeling slightly nauseous about 20-40 minutes after eating at least once a day?

I notice this really only at lunch at work or dinner on weekends. I am often very hypoglycemic and get hungry every two hours but usually just eat three mes and ine or two snacks. I am in omeprazole because my birth control gives me heartburn but i still feel this nausea. In fact it started when i started the omeprazole, not before.

Brief Answer:
Could be due to gall stones.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.

I appreciate your concern for the nausea after having meals.
May I know for how long you have been taking the birth control pills?

After having gone through your history diligently I am of the opinion your symptoms are suggestive of gall bladder disease which are most commonly due to gall stones.

Use of birth control pills for long duration can also predispose to gall stone formation,

In view of the above suspected problem, you are advised to visit a doctor for proper evaluation and possibly an ultrasound to rule out the gall stones.

Meanwhile you may take Domperidone along with Omeprazole for the control of nausea. Avoid fatty meals, eat lot of vegetables, fruits, yoghurt, etc.
Hope the suggestions given above could be useful to you.

Best regards.
