Question: Hi I've never tried this before but Im unable to get to my doctors office. I have an on going spasm in my back on the left side under my shoulder blade. it went away in May and now its back. I fell down steps on Tuesday and then slipped in something the same morning. Ive been using Icy Hots Smart Relief Ten Therapy but it isn't working as well as it did the first time.
I haven't had this problem since May. when I went to the doctor in May he put me on either Skelaxin or Robaxin, I dont recall which adn Tramadol. I dont like codeine based narcotics, they make me very sick.

Brief Answer:
Pinched nerve, Muscle spasm, Stress

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

You seem to be suffering from a muscle spasm at your upper back. This can happen in a variety of , commonly a pinched nerve in the neck or Fibromyalgia.

I advise you to avoid taking much stress. Try to relax by deep breathing exercises, Yoga and Pranayam. Eat a healthy, balanced diet and drink plenty of water. Get 6-8 hours of sleep daily.

You can take a pain killer and muscle relaxant combination like Tablet Diclofenac and Thiocolchicoside combination for relief from the pain and muscle spasm. Also apply hot water bottle to the painful area. Avoid bending the neck forwards, lifting weights on the back or using chairs with less upper back support.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
