What Causes Muscle Spasms After Having Tetanus Injection?

default
Posted on Thu, 24 Sep 2015
Question: 7/1982 Tetanus IM .5 Induction to Army
4/1983 Tetanus IM .5 Automobile Accident
7/1984 Tetanus S/C .1 No Injury, but medically quarantined and confined underground for weeks in dirty conditions.

Would this cause 30 years of muscle spasms. Treated right after last injection
Would this cause complete loss of cartilage in shoulder. Was treated for shooting pain after injection.

I think I had a case of Tetanus. Muscle spasms, Severe abdominal cramps, bacteria in lab work. The first sign 14 days after event, S/C injection of tetanus was given. No open wounds, but many sick and dirty living conditions.

Second sign Severe abdominal blockage 4 weeks after event

Third sign trace of bacteria in lab work three months after event.

Back pinned pointed Muscle has spasmed ever since, with no previous history of back problems. Clean back XRay in 1983.

Pain reported at the time was shooting into the right shoulder. Right shoulder was replaced 25 years after event. No known history of trama to shoulder.

Brief Answer:
I do not think that your shoulder pain or spasm is due to tetanus

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I can assure you that your shoulder spasm is not due to tetanus. Most probably your pain us due to cervical spondylitis. In this condition there is nerve compression in shoulder which causes such pain.
Other common cause can be shoulder replacement getting loose.
So I would recommend you to visit a orthopaedic surgeon and get x ray of the shoulder. If there is implant is loosed then you might need surgical intervention.

The spasm is in the back in the same spot it has been for thirty one years.

The shoulder at the on set of the muscle spasm to l4/l5 area received shooting pain. The shooting pain was chronic for 25 plus years, when the shoulder had to be replaced. No injury but at 45 I had total shoulder replacement.

Brief Answer:
You can steroid injection at that point

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If there is pain and it is on a certain point then you can get steroid injection at that site. It will take care of that cramp.
For shooting pain take Pregabalin M one tablet night time and intermittent cervical traction exercises. if there is pain in shoulder then as I told you get x ray to make sure that your there is no loosening of shoulder implant.
thanks
