default
Posted on Tue, 7 Oct 2014
Question: Hello,

I got 3 questions.

1. I get my fingers, legs and some other bones cramps time to time. Most of the time when I wake up and try to stress, I get these cramps. They are very painful. Although after sometime, it turns normal.

2. I have gastritis problem. Every morning when I wake up, I can't put brush, I feel extreme nausea. I am facing this problem for last 3 years. Is it related? If yes, what can I do to solve this?

3. I sleep a lot. But I still feel tired. I find it hard to wake up from bed even after sleeping a lot. Am I too weak?

Thanks.

1. I can't say it's stiffness. I made a mistake probably. I should be muscle cramp, not bone cramp.

As the picture, I get my leg muscle cramp sometimes when I wake up in the morning.

2. I do have recurrent redning of eyes.

3. I don't have oral ulcer. But I have gastritis.

4. I don't exactly have pain in joints. It should be muscle cramps.

5. Don't have a history of such deficiency.

6. Nope, never got investigated. This is the first time, trying to consult some doctor about it.

Brief Answer:
Get investigated.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome again.
See muscular pains can be due to Calcium and Vitamin D deficiency and also can be bony pains often misleading as muscle pains. Such bony pains can be due to Rheumatoid Arthritis.

I would advise you to get following investigations:
1. Thyroid profile.
2. Hemogram with ESR
3. Serum Calcium and Vitamin D3 levels.
4. CPK Levels.
5. Rheumatoid factor.
6. Fasting blood sugar

For acidity problem I advise you following:
1. To take a combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone once a day.
2. To take soft bland diet.
3. To avoid alcohol and smoking.

This will definitely help you
I also advise you to take Vitamin D supplement like Cholecalciferol.
Get investigated and review with reports.
If you have any further query please ask me.

Brief Answer:
RF, ESR, CRP.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
It is good to know your thyroid function test is normal. However hyperthyroidism doesn't get normal on its own until and unless that was transient one.
Keep a watch on your thyroid Functions 6 monthly.
For Rheumatoid Arthritis the basic and first line investigations are Rheumatoid Factor, ESR, CRP.
If the suspicion is high and Rheumatoid Factor comes negative we get Anti-CCP Antibody and X ray Both Hands
If you have any further query please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
