Question: I have pain in tailbone mostly when sitting an low stomach cramping but passes an slight bright red blood in stool comes an goes most symptoms accrue 30 to 45 min after eating

Lower back pain associated with blood in stool should be worked up for both lower GI tract and spine issues. After examining the back, x ray lumbosacral spine or MRI (for more accurate assessment) can be advised. Local examination to look for hemorrhoids, anal fissure, abscess and fistulas should be done. Digital rectal exam should also be done in the same setting. Stool for ova/parasite and routine exam can be advised. A colonoscopy should be considered if no clear cause of the lower GI bleed can be determined, in consult with your doctor. In the meanwhile, you should take adequate fluids. Hyoscine butylbromide along with paracetamol or Tylenol can be taken for pain relief.
