What Causes Low Libido In An Elderly Person?

Question: I am a 62 year old male who has been on blood pressure meds for 15 years. I was changed to a Valsartan HCTZ about 6 months ago and maybe it is a coincidence but my sexual desire has all but stopped. Could that be the medication or the age? Both
I have a physical next week. Is there something I can have the doctor check for?

- uric acid plasma levels
- kidney and liver function tests
- plasma levels of testosterone.

If all the above mentioned tests result normal, you should consult with a psychiatrist, because it may be a sign of depression or increased anxiety.
