Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Low blood pressure is not a known adverse effect related to Plavix or Atorvastatin.

But, it could be related to the stroke, to the lack of physical activity or other possible metabolic causes (chronic anemia, an electrolyte imbalance, etc.).

I agree with your decision of stopping blood pressure medicine as long as your blood pressure values are low.

I would also recommend taking plenty of fluids and increase salt intake. Switching to simvastatin may help if you have used it before with a better tolerance.

But, if your troubles persist, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical exam and some tests to investigate for other underlying possible causes:

- complete blood count for anemia
- blood electrolytes
- coagulation tests
- liver and kidney function tests
- a resting ECG
- a chest X ray study

Hope to have been helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
