Question: my granddaughter woke up with rash all over her body it looks like chicken pox but much worse as it is a lot more pimples than chicken pox
we gave her Benadryl
what is it?

Chicken pox are blister like water filled lesions which are found all over the body. It comes in crops gradually increasing with time. Usually have associated fever and does not itch unless scab formation occurs... On the other hand urticaria occurs suddenly all over the body. They are itchy reddish raised areas on the body.... Treatment of chicken pox is Acyclovir and of urticaria is cetrizine. If giving benadryl has helped then the chance of the lesion being urticaria is more than chicken pox. Urticaria is a severe form of allergic reaction..
