Posted on Fri, 20 Nov 2015
Question: what would cause one to wake up with all over joint/muscle/bone chronic pain? Woke up Tues morning(10/27) and called my FP and she worked me in that day.I have had joint/muscle issues for many years, but never so wide spread and severe. My FP said possible fibromyliagia and I could be coming down with something, i.e. chronic bronchitis (she refered me to a Rheumatologist which I made apt w/on Dec 9th. She gave me 2 injections (antiobotic & Steriod. Also prescribed Dexamethasone 4mg 1 time day for 6 days and SMZ/TMP Reg strength 1x day for 20 days. Also, discontinued my maintenance Meloxicam replacing w/samples of Duexis 800mg/26.6mg for 7 days and Zorvolex 35mg for 3 days. Began taking Duexis and others same day of doc appt. Slept most of that afternoon through evening. Wed morn felt 70% better, Thurs. 95% better. I am experiencing some disorientation which I believe to be from Duexis and am concerned as I am leaving in the morning (Sat. 10/31) on a 7 hour drive alone to meet friends for a week-long vacation??

Brief Answer:
Could be spread of infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Thanks for the query.

Do you have fever, chills or unusual sweating spells?

Are you still coughing and have any other symptoms of chronic bronchitis ?

Since you have been diagnosed with chronic bronchitis and are on pain killers and steroid, it is possible that your are experiencing symptoms of spread of infection in your blood stream, especially if you feel weak and feverish.

Also men side effects of Duexis is body pain, malaise which can be a cause.

I advise you to stop taking this medicine. Get Your blood tested for infection by a compete blood cell count, blood culture, chest Xray and sputum exam. Apply hot water bag to the painful regions. Keep limbs elevated.

It is advisable to avoid long journeys when you are still under the weather and wait to you get to meet your Doctor after discussing the possible causes.

Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. Eat healthy. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol. Infection needs to be ruled out in your case.

Kindly answer my queries for me to be in a better position to help you.

Regards I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

I did have fever/chills early on, but no longer. In fact, am quite warm person in general.
I have no symptoms of bronchitis and never did which is why I was puzzled that my doc prescsribed antiobotic. I think she thought I was coming down with something.
