What Causes Itchy Painful Bumps Above Buttocks?

default
Posted on Tue, 28 Jul 2015
Question: I have a couple of itchy clear bumps near the top of my butt crack that are a little painful but not bad. I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and have recently had sinus surgery. I took antibiotics for two weeks after surgery (June 3) and am now in prednisone and more antibiotics because of sinuses. Is my body just stressed or is it something else?

Brief Answer:
Sinus infections takes longer to become better

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Sorry to hear about your problems. Hashimotos thyroiditis and the skin infection/sinus infections doesnt seems to be related. Sinus infections often take longer to ge cured and one may need longerduration of treatment. While you are on antibiotics and steroids ( prednisone), you tend to develop skin infections especially fungal infection. The skin lesion near the buttocks may be a fungal infection. Is it itchy??

Not to worry. Once your sinuses are clear, you may start to feel better
Regards
Binu
