Ultrasonography and hormone testing advised
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX thanks for trusting health care magic.
High prolactin levels usually cause infrequent and light periods but your complaint is not consistent with the lab report.
Light test line is slight positive test result but is discarded as false in case patient gets her normal period after the test.
In my opinion you should get a transvaginal ultrasonography and hormone testing done which includes TSH and bHCG Levels.
most common cause for all your complaints is early pregnancy which went unnoticed and got cleared with your periods.
This diagnosis also explains
- raised prolactin levels,
- deranged periods,
- slight positive pregnancy test
- and gain in weight.
I hope i have answered your question but in case you have any other query i will be happy to help.
previous early pregnancy which got aborted
Detailed Answer:
Hi mam, no you are not pregnant right now.
I wanted to state that you had an early pregnancy which got terminated unnoticed.
This high level of prolactin and irregularity of periods are a result of that event.
transvaginal ultrasound and hormones will be helpful in delineating any other reason for the irregularity of periods.

ultrasound will diagnose the problem
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, almost 20% pregnancies get terminated before recognition due to several known and unknown reasons.
Ultrasound will tell us about the health and integrity of uterus and ovaries and will delineate any abnormality which might have caused abortion or is due to abortion.
It can also tell us about any pathology which might be the sole cause of irregularities in periods.
Cysts or fibroids if present can cause irregularities in period but not raised prolactin levels.
Ever since your pregnancy test is negative now, current on going pregnancy is not the cause of raised prolactin levels either.
So, in nutshell there is nothing to worry in your case and all we need to do is to
- delineate the cause of irregular periods and restore the normal rhythm.
- normalize the prolactin levels.
