What Causes Irregular Menstrual Bleeding?

default
Posted on Tue, 25 Jul 2017
Question: Contrary to my medical history of delayed periods, I have got early periods this month - that is 15 days after my last cycle. I had my last period starting on 11th XXXXXXX and again got them on 27th XXXXXXX and is still continuing. However the flow is much less and they are not the regular ones. It is mostly spotting. What explains the early periods?Just to clarify my medical history of delayed periods is peculiar in nature. This is since past 5 years that I usually have a cycle of 1.5 months. However, every year I do skip a month of periods, which without any medication gets back to normal 1.5 month cycle.

Brief Answer:
could be hormonal issues

Detailed Answer:
Hi
GREETINGS
In view of previous hyperprolactinemia you need to repeat prolactin level along with thyroid function.(Ft3.Ft4.TSH).
PCOS,THYROID ISSUES AND HIGH PROLACTIN ARE THE COMMONEST CAUSES OF IRREGULAR PERIODS.
If everything is normal you need to repeat ultrasound scan and gynaec check up to rule out any infection (Pelvic inflammatory disease).
Hope my answer helps you.
Regards
