Question: Just recently had sex,so took amoxicillin to prevent me from having UTI,unfortunately I'm still peeing, is this the effects of the Amoxcilin getting rid of bad bacteria?

Hello
Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have increase frequency of urination after having sex.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1)Was it a unprotected sex?
2) Does your female partner has infection of Vagina(Vaginitis)
3) Do you have burning urination?

Frequency for urination could be due to either reaction to vaginal secretions of your female partner or allergic reaction to chemicals in condom used as lubricant.

Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefexime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water.To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
