Posted on Tue, 10 May 2016
Question: I am 30 yr old and 13 weeks pregnant. Since 5th week I was having brown discharge on and off. The doctor prescribed duphaston and corion inj once weekly. In the Starting of 12th week I was having very heavy vaginal bleeding soaking my napkins evry 5 mins. I was admitted in hospital where dr did scan and various tests. All my reports are normal and the baby is 12weeks one day with normal fuchal scan and nasal bone seen. Also no retroplacental clots where seen. The dr now put me on proluton depot weekly twice. Also on complete bedrest. Dr said that may be placental separation started partially so bleeding started. Now we are worried a lot about what will happen and whether pregnancy will continue normally.

Brief Answer:
Follow your doctor advice.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
You should follow your doctor advice and continue bed rest and injection.
Sometimes it happens and this bleeding problem resolved after sometimes.
It usually occurs due to hormonal imbalance, so hormonal support is given in your case.
As your baby is fine at 12 weeks of pregnancy, you should not be worry about it.
Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
Good luck.

My lmp was 15th nov 2015 but dr said due to late conception there is a gap of 2weeks in foetus age. Will this have any problem in foetus growth? Also now I am put on proluton depot injection but the corion injection ( beta hcg injection) has been stopped. Some dr say that corion should be continued till 16 weeks. What is right and wrong we are totally confused. Pls guide us. Everytime I have a fear in mind that I will bleed again.

Brief Answer:
Yes,two weeks gap in foetal age may occur.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Sorry for such a long delay in my response.
Yes,due to late conception, 2 weeks gap in foetal age may occur, it is a normal finding.
Corion inj. Is usually given in first trimester and progesterone support is given through out the pregnancy or some doctors prefer upto 28 weeks.
You should not take much stress and complete rest should be done, because stress is very harmful in your case.
You should not be worried about bleeding, as we discuss before that foetal is perfectly fine at 12 weeks ultrasound.
Hope found useful.
Do not take stress and enjoy safe and happy motherhood.
Good luck.
