Brief Answer:
It could be pyoderma of the scalp or a fungal infection of the scalp

Detailed Answer:
Hi...It could be pyoderma of the scalp or a fungal infection of the scalp.

Skin conditions are best diagnosed only after seeing directly. I suggest you to upload photographs of the same on this website, so that I can guide you scientifically.

Along with this I have a few questions for you -

1. Is there any fever?
2. Is there any vomiting?
3. Is there any swellings in the neck region?

I suggest you upload an image of the lesions you have mentioned so that I can guide you further.

I already uploaded a few pictures of his scalp I'm not sure if it went through right but thats what it looks like now and he complains that it hurts. The second bump is just about the size of a grape but its not red or with any sign of discoloration. It is just hard. Also he has not have any fever or any sign of a swollen neck. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
This is bacterial infection or scalp with lymphadenopathy

Detailed Answer:
Hi...I have just seen the images. This looks like pyoderma scalp or bacterial infection of the scalp. The other swelling you are holding with 2 fingers to dileneate it is looking like a lymph node swelling which is secondary to the bacterial infection and it is a normal physiological response to infection near by.

This definitely needs antibiotics. My choice would be Amoxycillin Clavulenate or Clindamycin.

These are prescription drugs andi suggest you consult your pediatrician regarding this.

You need not worry about the lymph node swelling. This will subside once the primary infection is treated.
