Posted on Mon, 7 Jul 2014
Question: my daughter bashed her face against mine and hit my nose very hard about 5 days ago... have had headaches on and off since.... is that normal?I had sinus surgery a few months ago too. The headaches have not been every day but have tingling and my eye sockets, forehead and temples hurt today (for an hour or two).

Brief Answer:
As below:

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. The headaches would be normal after a hard hit less than a week ago..

2. The internal healing after sinus surgery should be complete by now and should not be a cause for worry. Atypical facial sensations and pain are also common after extensive sinus surgery. Upload any operative notes and pre-op scan images for a correlation.

3. The tingling and pain are due to trigeminal neuralgia. You can request your physician for medication for a neuralgia or atypical facial pain or referred sensation.

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
