What Causes Hard Bumps On The Cervix?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Jan 2017
Question: I have recently just found a few bumps on my cervix. I can only feel them so I don't know too much but feels like theres about 6 or so, in 2 groups around the centre. They feel really small and hard and don't hurt when I touch them.

My period came a week early this cycle too which was strange. Don't know if thats related. Not sure if these bumps are new but feel like I would've noted them before if Id had them a long time.

What could this be?

Also, Ive never had a baby and felt these bumps between cycles (just before getting my period again early)

Brief Answer:
Can be a normal variation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.

These bumps on the cervix that you have noticed can be normal rugosities of the vaginal wall or the cervix. It can be due to a small polyp in the area also that can be ruled out only after a direct examination.

This is not related to the early period that you had.

It is best to consult your gynecologist for a per speculum examination of the area and a PAP smear.

Please feel free to discuss further. I'll be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
