Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

Increased thirst, urination, and weight loss can be signs of diabetes.

If there isn't enough insulin, sugar in the blood can't get into the cells where it is needed. Sugar accumulates in the blood and gets spilled into the urine too. Because sugar can't get into the cells, weight loss can happen.

There are other reasons that are possible but it is imperative that you get your blood sugar checked. It would be a good idea to have both a fasting blood sugar test and an A1C test. The A1C gives an indication of the average blood sugars over an approximately 2 month period of time.

It may be that you haven't completely crossed the line into not having enough insulin, and perhaps under certain situations, your body isn't able to compensate fully.

So do go in to see your doctor, but if you can't get in very soon, call your doctor and ask if he/she will order the 2 tests I mentioned now with follow up when you get in to see him/her. It would also be a good idea to get a comprehensive metabolic panel along with these tests. It is a blood test that looks at electrolyte levels, kidney and liver function, and acid-base balance.

I hope this information helps. If you are willing, please let me know how you are doing after you have been evaluated.
