What Causes Frequent Urination After Recovering From UTI?

Question: I had a uti finished the meds on Tuesday 3 days of bactrim. beofr that a week of microbid. urine was retested no sign of infection. why do I keep urinating frequently ? I have a small 2.3 cm cyst on my right ovary as well.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you had UTI and have taken medicines like Bactrim for 3 days and nitrofurantoin for a week.but still have frequency for urination.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem
1) Do you have burning urination ?
2) Have you done Urine culture and sensitivity test to trace out causative organisms and their sensitivity pattern ?
3) Do you have urgency?

The frequency for urination even after taking antibiotics suggest incompletely eradicated infection .

Please get Urine culture done to trace out organisms so that you can take appropriate antibiotic as per culture report.

Ensure to drink more water.to keep your urine dilute.

Take urinary antispasmodics like Flavoxate twice daily in addition to antibiotic

The small ovarian cyst has no significance at all .

no burning or urgency. culture strep b. urine sample said infection is gone. can it just be body adjusting ? can this resolve without falvoxate ?
