Severe acute infection most probably UTI

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.

Usually high grade fever with this high WBC count is because of an acute sever infection. In this scenario he has fever and back ache with high WBC which means following possibilities can be there.

1) UTI.
2) Prostate infection.
3) Pyelonephritis.
4) Intestinal infection.

1) UTI: it is urinary tract infection and is more common compared to other two possbilities, it is assosiated with burning micturation frothy urine and sometimes blood in urine too.

2) Prostatitis: in this case there is prostate infection and usually occurs in people having previous prostate issues like hyperplasia etc.

3) Pyelonephritis is infection of kidneys usually occurs in people with some UTI previously of kidney stone etc.

4) Gastrointestinal issues like intestinal infection can cause fever and back ache.

All there possibilites have only one treatment and that is antibiotics. Your brother should immediately seek medical attention and discuss antibiotic treatment with doctor, this will hopefully control his problem in 4-5 following days after prescription and administration of anibiotics.

Till then he can take Tylenol 500mg for fever and cold sponging helps much.

I hope this answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it.

Regards.
