What Causes Extreme Soreness In Throat And Left Ear?

default
Posted on Mon, 2 May 2016
Question: I have had an extreme sore throat and left ear for the past 4 days. I went to a walk-in clinic, they recommended I take Tylenol, chew gum, and suck on Halls, my throat is getting worse day by day and cant sleep due to the discomfort. I am 55 years old and getting concerned, any suggestion other than what I have done thus far ? thanks as I don't wish to it to turn into pnemonya (ignore my spelling) I am considering going to emergency as this is very unpleasant

I have epiglottitis 15+ years ago but certainly not the exact same symptoms

Brief Answer:
DISPRIN GARGLES if not allergic to ASPIRIN

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I suggest alternate DISPRIN and WARM WATER GARGLES, two times each a day along with what your doctor suggested for one more day.
If it does not get better even with new gargling that I mentioned you can see at the emergency for a prescription of antibiotic.
Hope this gives you a direction.
