What Causes Elevated Liver Enzymes While On Dextromethorphan?

Question: I'm 70 years old. The doctor called me my enzyme of my liver came back high.
This happen to me last year and they did a sonogram and everything was fine. Just a little fatty liver.
In December I did blood work and everything was fine. Now is high again. I was drinking a cold medication dextromethorphan plus I drink everyday escitalopram, metropolor, amlodipine can it be one of this medications.

Yes it can be, escitalopram and dextromeetoprhan may cause liver enzymes to increase especially if there are no other factors such as alcohol abuse, or viral hepatitis. What are exact values of liver enzymes? YOu should do ultrasound or CT scan just to rule out some possible disorders but you should reduce dosage of medications. WIsh you good health. Regards

Hi.
It may or may not be related to liver issues.
But you should do upper endoscopy to check stomach and duodenum since ultrasound wont show us condition of stomach.
