Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Based on your description, there are a few things that need to be looked for as common causes for such feeling of loosing consciousness. You are right, medication are one of the most common cause for dizziness as many medication have side effects related to light headedness and dizziness.
Dizziness describes two feelings. Lightheadedness means that you are about to faint with no movement of your surroundings. Vertigo requires that you or your surroundings are in motion when there is no actual movement of you or the surroundings. If upon physical exam there is a focal neurological deficit then it could indicate a stroke and a CT /MRI can be done to confirm the diagnosis.
Pre syncope/syncope that signifies hemodynamic related symptoms requires a cardiac workup. The symptoms include confusion, hypotension, lightheadedness, shortness of breath. An EKG, Echocardiogram, should be done initially to look for any abnormality. Blood pressure, Blood sugar and electrolytes also needs to be checked as hypotension, hypoglycemia and electrolyte imbalance can lead to these symptoms. I would advise you to get to a hospital near you to get the relevant investigations done.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
