What Causes Dizziness And Nausea While On Dramamine?

Question: My son had his wisdom teeth out 6 days ago. He had a bad reaction to the 1 hydrocodone he took and we gave him Dramamine to counteract his nausea. He has not taken anymore pain pills except ibuprophen 600mg for pain. He now can't sleep and hasn't slept for over 24 hours now. He has a jerk reaction every few minutes when he tries to sleep. Could this be residual effects from the hydrocodone? He is very weak and sometimes feels dizzy. Any thoughts?

In case if the symptoms have occurred after taking hydrocodone only then it is probably due to allergic reaction to it and as per your explanation the reaction looks pretty severe..

Yes, the symptoms can be due to hydrocodone only.

As he is getting jerky every few minutes, therefore you should consult an Emergency room immediately and get him examined..

As he already has Tourette's syndrome jerks ca be related but can be confirmed only after examination..

If it is confirmed as allergic reaction after examination then proper anti allergic treatment and also managing the symptoms like nausea etc can be done accordingly..
