What Causes Discoloration Of Inner Lip After Quitting Smoking?

Question: HI

i have been smoking for 6 years and recently quit. My inner lip ( up and down) has discoloration. It looks really bad. my lips have gotten dark and patch on inner lips are more visible. how do i treat this. should i consult dermatologist or are there home remedies or over the counter medicines to take care of this.
