default
Posted on Fri, 20 May 2016
Question: I have difficulty taking deep breaths, also feel bloated and not able to eat a regular portion of food without feel stuffed. My mouth is dry and I feel like i have something in the back of my throat which makes me swallow or clear my throat quite frequently. At times my mouth is so dry I can't swallow and it feels as if my airway is blocked. This has been going on for months and I have had x rays and a upper GI and they found nothing. I got an inhaler and a antibiotic last time. I have finish the course and the have had no relief. I now can't lay down to sleep because now after laying there I feel like i can't breath and panic and get up. I finally fall asleep after complete exhaustion and can not stay awake. This has started just lately but is getting worst. I have sore muscles around my ribs and back that feel like they make be keeping me from taking a deep breath. My throat is what is really scaring me right now I feel as I will suffocate.

Brief Answer:
First rule out heart diseases.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Breathing difficulty and suffocation on lying down is seen commonly with heart diseases like heart failure.
You are also not improving with lung medicines (inhalers and antibiotic), so we should first rule out heart diseases in your case.
So get done ecg, 2d echo and stress test to rule out heart diseases.
Please let me know
1. Do you have hypertension or diabetes?
2. Do you have stressful life?
3. Do you smoke?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better.
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
