Question: My baby at four weeks is frothing and unable to breathe, she passed stools just once in the last 24 hrs as compared to five times in about the same time. Kindly advise.

Hi,

Thanks for your query.

If your baby is running fever even 99 or 100 degree F then you may have to take her to the ER as this indicates impending Pneumonia.

Reduced frequency of defecation could be a secondary effect to this insult caused by infection.

She has to be examined in detail and if infection confirmed may have to be placed on antibiotic at the earliest.
