Brief Answer:
Mental stress and hormonal imbalance.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

If pregnancy is excluded, then hormonal imbalance and mental stress are the main reasons of delayed period in this context. Some other associated causes are over weight, irregular diet habit, Poly Cystic Ovary, high prolactin level etc.

You may require hormonal pill to induce period following some basic investigation like ultrasound scan and hormone test. Kindly, consult with your gynecologist for proper guidance and prescription.

In the mean time, you can start following things to induce period like :

1) Eating papaya, pineapple or other heat inducing foods like meat, hot milk.

2) Drink fennel seed soaked boiled water several times in a day.

3) Use hot water bottle around abdomen/ back region or take hot shower bath.

4) Celery juice, Ginger tea and vitamin -C supplements are also useful.

5) Avoid Salty/ Fatty foods and mental stress. Maintain genital hygiene.

Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Wish your good health and take care yourself.
