What Causes Delayed Menstruation With Negative UPT?

Question: I usually have a rear 24-26 day cycle occasionally it has been 28 days (6 months ago). I am currently on day 33 and no signs of a period. I am actively trying to get pregnant. Urine pregnancy tests are negative. Could I still be pregnant? I have been trying to conceive for 2 years and had no success. I really am scared that I am not pregnant and this will be a real heartbreaker for me.
I am scared to let my husband near me as I worry intercourse will bring my period on. Please help do I have any chances of pregnancy? If not what could it be?

I can understand your concerns.

In my opinion, You should go for blood beta HCG levels. This test is a better predictor of pregnancy than urine pregnancy test.

I think it is too early for UPT to come positive.

Intercourse will not cause your periods to start. Neither will it affect chances of pregnancy.

With your details, there appears no other cause of delayed periods at this moment.

There is no reason that you could not be pregnant.

Detailed Answer:
Yes you can.

UPT usually comes positive after around two weeks after unprotected intercourse.
But there can be false negative urine pregnancy tests.

Blood beta HCG levels are more reliable indicator of pregnancy.

I had intercourse over 2 week ago and test still negative thats what worries me. And makes me think I not pregnant. I have no symptoms when people are pregnant they said they had this that and the other.
Do you really think I am pregnant?

Take another UPT after 1 week.

Detailed Answer:
The symptoms are not necessarily present so early.

The UPT may be false negative in many cases.
It's better that you go for blood beta HCG levels to confirm.
It I would suggest you to take another UPT after a week or so.

I have through your details.

As you told that your cycles are irregular since one year.

I advise that you should go for ultrasound to rule out PCOS.

PCOS can cause irregular periods, infertility.

You should go for lifestyle changes like healthy diets, morning walk and exercises.

As you have been trying for 2 years to conceive, this may be the cause.

And I would still recommend that serum beta HCG levels will confirm the pregnancy.
