default
Posted on Fri, 10 Jun 2016
Question: I have a almost constant pain on the right side of my chest near the second to last rib. Occasionally I get the same pain on my left side. Its been going on for about 2 weeks. Ice doesnt' help. I don't have a doctor until 5/2/2016 so I'm wondering what I can do about the pain (better figure out what it is) until then?

Yes, its hard to be specific but it seems if I'm sitting slouched over it will worsen. But when I'm lying down it will still hurt, on my back or on my stomach. When I'm standing and moving I can still feel it but it doesn't seem as bad or I can't think about it because I'm focusing on other things.

FYI, I weigh 250 pounds and am 6' 1.

My doctor did recommend that I take vitamin D. When I lost my health benefits and my doctor I forgot about that as I lost my prescriptions. But I can obviously get more of that without a prescription. I either sleep on back or my stomach (primarily stomach), and I usually put my arm under my head when I'm on my stomach. Doesn't seem awkward.

I haven't taken any painkillers. I'm trying to press on the area and there is no worsening of pain. In fact, when the pain gets bad I often lightly place my hand on the area. I don't think it makes the pain less, but it just seems natural to do so.
