What Causes Constant Chest Pain With Excessive Belching?

default
Posted on Wed, 30 Dec 2015
Question: Hello, I am going on week 4 of having chest pains. Primarily, they are in 2 different places behind my left breastbone. I would describe as twinges that can last for several minutes.Sometimes I'll have pains on the right side. Additionally, I have been belching a lot for a couple of months. The pains don't seem to come after a meal. I have no acid taste. I exercise 4-5x a week. No extra pain during exertion. I also have random aches and pains all over my body (knee, foot leg, teeth, etc). Also had a normal EKG 3 weeks ago. I'm having a bit of anxiety as this continues with no relief.

Brief Answer:
Gastric discomfort , not heart problem

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Chest pain with no prior history of heart illness, persistent for 4 weeks, with belching and use of prilosec is gastrointestinal issue. Gastric discomfort like dyspepsia or gastritis is likely possibility. With normal ekg all other heart possibilities are ruled out.

You need to continue the medications and modify diet and lifestyle. Low vitamin D levels also may exacerbate it. Eat small frequent meals. avoid irritants and stimulants like spices, alcohol, sweets , chocolates, smoking, processed foods, canned foods, dairy products, fatty foods, etc and prefer more fiber and fluids. Use more peppermint and yogurt with every meal and hope for the best. Regular exercise even brisk walk for 35 minutes a day will help the bowel motility.

Nutshell, no cardiac problem, use symptomatic treatment for gastric discomfort and comply with the medications and use vitamin D supplements and prefer more food rich in vitamin D products like sea foods etc.

I hope it helps Take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
