I have not been feeling well for the past 2 weeks my blood pressure has been 125/70, but my relaxed pulse rate has gone from 58 to 122 and it will not go down. I feel sweat at night and sometime I get the chills and some sinus congestion with sinus pressure plus a slight head ache. Do I just have a bug or could something be going on?

Brief Answer:
you are probably having a sinus infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic forum.
I am Dr Aslam here to help you.

You are having lassitude, chills, night sweats, tachycardia and hypo tension-all these point towards an ongoing infection. With headache and sinus congestion, this indicates an acute sinus infection or sinusitis; hopefully nothing more than that.

To such cases in my clinic, I usually give antibiotics like azithromycin or amoxicillin+clavulonate, along with paracetamol and decongestants for 5-7 days. Your doctor will guide you in treatment.

Meanwhile, avoid cold/dusty atmosphere, direct blow from fan or AC vent on to face. Also take steam inhalation through nose 4-6 times daily.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have further questions, I will be happy to help.
Wishing you a faster cure. Thank you.

Will that also cause my pulse rate to more than double, even when resting?

Brief Answer:
Yes,it can cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Any infection in our body can cause significant resting tachycardia.
There are multiple causes for this.
Firstly, heart rate increases with increase in body temperature.
Secondly, the systemic insult caused by the infection results in hypo tension, which in turn causes reflex tachycardia.
Besides this, there are some inflammatory mediators and acute phase reactants that contributes to this.

As the infection progresses, these effects also progresses, finally resulting in cardio vascular collapse,if the infection is left untreated. This is why,it is important to treat any infection from the beginning itself.

I hope, now you got it cleared.
Kindly start the treatment without delay.
