What Causes Chest Pain And Inability To Pass Gas After Colonoscopy?

Question: Upper left quadrant pain & discomfort, & inability to pass gas, but able to burp, following routine colonoscopy on 9/26/2914; six benign polyps removed.This is my third procedure & this has never occured before.
No fever or blood in feces
Sent home from ER, on Monday on Leviqin 500mg q d, & Flagyl 500mg bid, both for 5 day; no improvement.
Some relief if stomach is forcibly distended, but pain in 24/7 & stomach/digestive tract rumbling constantly.
No relief in standing, lying down, sitting, etc.

I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query.
I have gone through your question , there are following possibilities,
1. Acidity, may be because of,
a) medicines, b) the diet or lack of it.
2. constipation, may be because of,
a) medicines b) diet or the type of it ,c) because of procedure of removing itself.
MY SUGGESTIONS ARE
1.Hot water bottle/bag compress on abdomen.
2.Take tab pantoprazole and domperidon 30 mins before breakfast with empty stomach. This is over the counter medication in most countries.
3.Small sips of plenty of oral fluids.
4.Small frequent diet, full of fiber.
5.Mild laxative if constipated.
