Brief Answer:
Please elaborate...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Chest congestion is a very vague complaint. Can you please describe your symptoms along with its duration?
What is your predominant complaint - is it cough or is it breathing difficulty? How long have you been suffering?
What are your current medications?
Have you sought opinion from your treating doctor? If yes, what was their opinion?

If the exercise intolerance (breathing difficulty) is fairly recent, then it is a cause of concern. It may be due to heavy body weight; however your heart latest heart functions need to be checked thoroughly. Was an echocardiogram done recently?

I would be able to understand your problem better, if you can provide the aforementioned minimal details. Any other information is most welcome.

Awaiting your reply...

Regards

After discharge from hospital 4/5 years back I am suffering with this complaint. nearly every 4-5 days my chest gets full with cough and breathing is difficult till the use of asthalin inhaler. One more thing there is always body pain from that time. Even after having any sitting or lying down posture is continued for more than half hour.

Nearly no medication except Paracetamol and Asthalin. Even taking bath makes me breathless.

I had consulted with my doctor and he plainly told that this is a type of asthma occurred due to heavy medication at the time of stroke and now you will have to cope up with for rest of your life. Take upto 3 pills of crocin to soothe bodily pain and asthalin for breathing.

Cardiogram is clean no traces even.

Before my weight was 82 kg and now nearing full century. My weight was slowly increasing from 1980 from 76 kg to 82 kg in 2009/10 ie 6 kg in 30 years. and now just within 4/5 years heavy weight gain of 16/18 kgs in span of 4/5 years.

I was athlete in college days a intercollegiate boxer and Swimmer

Please help as I don't want to live as the DE-shaped and asthamatic once climbing 10 floors easily now unable to walk few steps just within 3/4 years.

Please feel free to mention your opinion and suggestion frankly. If there is any hope or not

Brief Answer:
You need to see a pulmonologist....

Detailed Answer:
I do not completely agree with your. You been on short acting bronchodilator along with paracetamol. These are long acting ones available. Steroid inhalers are used in some cases to prevent asthma attacks.

Since your heart is clean, it does seem to be asthma attacks that is causing the breathing difficulty. If your echocardiogram is normal and ejection fraction is normal, your doctors can try long acting bronchodilators. Please consult a pulmonologist or a chest physician and discuss about these.

If ejection fraction is low, your doctors can start treatment that can reduce the intensity of these attacks.

Please pay a visit to the specialist. You don't need to bear these complaints for the rest of life.
